Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role involves providing high-quality medical care to patients across various settings, including acute care, primary care, and specialty practices. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for performing assessments, diagnosing conditions, and implementing treatment plans while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and interpret laboratory results.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
- Manage acute pain and provide appropriate treatment options.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide post-operative care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Participate in clinical research and data collection for ongoing studies.
- Provide triage services in emergency situations, including critical care settings.
- Educate patients on health management, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems including eClinicalWorks and Cerner.
- Experience with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and CPT coding for accurate billing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
- Strong skills in suturing, airway management, phlebotomy, and IV infusion techniques.
- Familiarity with hospice & palliative medicine principles and geriatric care.
- Experience in various medical settings such as urgent care, family planning, pediatrics, internal medicine, or emergency medicine.
- Ability to perform procedures such as cardiac catheterization, gastric lavage, tube feeding, and spinal taps.
- Understanding of telehealth practices and health coaching methodologies.
