About the Opportunity Join Garden City Hospital, a trusted community hospital in the Detroit metro area, as the Emergency Medicine Medical Director. Emergency Department Overview Annual Volume: Approximately 36,000 patient visits Trauma Designation: Level III Bed Capacity: 32 main ED beds + 6 fast-track beds Patient Flow: ∼2 patients per hour, moderate acuity Staffing Model: 2 physicians + 1 APP per shift Shift Structure: 12-hour day/night shifts, 8-hour mid shifts EMR System: Epic Position Details Clinical Commitment: ∼100 hours per month Administrative Role: Remaining hours focused on leadership tasks during weekdays Shift Mix: Combination of day, mid, and night shifts for clinical coverage Flexibility: Some administrative duties and meetings can be conducted remotely Key Responsibilities Oversee Emergency Department operations, quality improvement, and performance metrics Partner with hospital leadership and medical staff to align ED goals Recruit, onboard, and mentor physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) Ensure compliance with hospital policies and clinical standards Lead ED meetings and represent the department in hospital-wide leadership forums Qualifications Certification: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) Experience: Minimum 5 years as an attending Emergency Medicine physician
